  • Asylum and immigration

    Following changes in the law due to the Immigration and Asylum Act of 1999, asylum seekers that arrived after April 2000 no longer have a right to assistance and do not have to be provided for by the council.

    Citizens Advice Bureau Craven

    The Citizens Advice Bureau offers free confidential debt counselling service. They can advise on different types of debt such as rent and mortgage arrears, credit card debts and bank loans.

  • Benefits

    The local authority benefit advisors offer benefit assessment and provide advice about entitlement to welfare benefits to individuals in receipt of benefit or claiming benefit.

  • Council Tax

    Council tax levels, council tax discounts and exemptions, and the council tax support scheme

  • Domestic violence

    If you or someone you know is suffering domestic violence and is in immediate danger, please call the Police on 999.

  • Voluntary organisations

    Community Groups and Voluntary Sector Organisations that provide information and support to local community groups, voluntary organisations and charities.

  • CCTV

    In 2013 a wireless CCTV (WCCTV) system was purchased that allows images to be recorded for the purpose of crime prevention and detection.
