Blue Badge holders - parking information

Blue badge holders have to pay for a ticket on arrival to any Craven District Council car park regardless of whether they park in a designated blue badge bay or a standard bay.

Blue badge holders must pay the standard tariff (except on the High Street Car Park, Skipton) and will receive an extra hour parking on top of what they have paid when their blue badge is displayed, an extra 30 minutes on Pop and Shop spaces.

Blue badge holders have a separate tariff on the High Street Car Park, which they must select, and will receive an extra hour parking on top of what they have paid when their blue badge is displayed.

Current Pay & Display charges are displayed on the tariff boards adjacent to the Pay & Display machines in each car park and can be found at Parking in Skipton, Parking in Settle and Parking in Ingleton.

Scratch cards

Blue badge holders are able to purchase scratch cards from Customer Services at the Council Offices, 1 Belle Vue Square, Skipton or the Tourist Information Centre in Skipton Town Hall. This is to save the blue badge holder from having to use the pay and display machines. The scratch cards can be purchased for various tariff bands on the High Street, Cavendish Street and Coach Street car parks in Skipton and can only be used in these car parks.

The year, month, date and time needs to be scratched off and the vehicle registration written in. This must then be placed on the dash board of the vehicle alongside the blue badge. As with normal pay and display tickets, the blue badge holder is entitled to an extra hour parking on all tariffs apart from the Pop and Shop tariff where they will be given 30 minutes.

On-street parking

Blue badge holders are entitled to park on-street on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, except where there is a ban on loading or unloading.

They can also park for free and for as long as they need to at on-street parking meters and on-street pay and display machines, unless there is a traffic sign specifying a time limit for holders of blue badges.
