Safeguarding children and adults at risk in Craven

Information and advice about safeguarding children and adults at risk in Craven

Craven District Council is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults who we come into contact with through the services we provide.

We have a Safeguarding Policy which sets out what staff should do if they have concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult, and how we work with our partner agencies to ensure that we protect children and vulnerable adults.

We have a zero tolerance approach to abuse and recognise that all children and adults at risk, irrespective of their age, class, religion, culture, disability, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality, family, dependency, marital or economic status have a right to protection from abuse, and acknowledge our shared responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk.

We all have a role to play in protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Anything you notice can help a child or adult at risk. You don't have to be absolutely certain about your suspicions; if you're concerned that a child or adult is being abused or their safety is at risk, speak to someone. Many people do not act because they're worried about being wrong. Together, we can tackle abuse.
