477 - Bereavement Services Trainee

We are looking for someone who would like to make the crematoria and cemeteries industry their chosen career route. Closing Date: 4th June 2017

£15,240 - £17,547 per annum

Craven District Council owns and operates 1 crematorium and 2 cemeteries, as well as having responsibility for 3 closed church yards, all within a beautiful countryside setting.

You will be trained, shadow and be mentored across all aspects of the service including within the crematorium, front of house (chapel), reception / funeral administration, memorial application and safety.  The salary for this post will increase on milestones being achieved eg modules attained towards the HNC in Cemetery and Crematorium Management.

Important attributes are enthusiasm and to have a can do attitude as well as being a key team member, working as part of a small but dedicated team, working across the breadth of the service.  At the same time an air of reverence must be maintained due to the sensitive nature of the service.

Training is available for the attainment of the appropriate qualifications, therefore the right person with the appropriate background knowledge and understanding is most important to us.

You will play a key role in ensuring that the current and future services provided meet the needs of your customers, whilst generating income for the Council to invest in public service provision.
