Craven District Council has a statutory duty as the local housing authority to address the housing needs of Craven residents across all housing tenures. This function is carried out by our Planning, Housing and Environmental Health services who plan and deliver new housing, provide advice & assistance to access housing and improve the condition of existing housing.

Craven District Council no longer owns any homes and transferred its housing stock to Yorkshire Housing in 2003 but as the strategic housing authority retains responsibility for the following key functions:
