A new Council Tax Reduction Scheme for North Yorkshire Council

From 1 April next year there will be a new single council in North Yorkshire, replacing the seven district and borough councils and the county council. Currently the seven district and borough councils all have slightly different schemes for Council Tax Reduction, and by law there has to be a single scheme covering the whole of the North Yorkshire area. All eight councils have been working together on proposals for a scheme that is more supportive, with the maximum level of reduction for the people most in need. The aim is that the single scheme will make claiming easy and provide up to 100% support for households on the lowest incomes.

Please note Mastercard have changed the security procedures they use when processing online payments

During the payment process you will be redirected to your bank’s card verification page and returned to the payment screen once this verification is complete.

The new security procedure increases your wait time on the ’authenticate payment’ screen. Please wait up to 15 seconds before selecting the submit button to continue with the processing of the payment, if you haven’t automatically been redirected.

Please note that you will need your Council Tax Reference Number (from a Council Tax bill) to use in the 'Reference' field, and you will need to enter the 'Amount' as pounds and pence with a decimal point in between, e.g. 145.32 or 68.00

We cannot accept payment via Diners Card or American Express.
