Decisions made under delegated authority to ‘take any action necessary, including incurring expenditure, in the event of an emergency or disaster in Craven'
Temporary arrangements to allow Council and Committee meetings to take place.
Council is the sovereign policy making body and is made up of all 30 Members of the Council.
The Policy Committee exercises the Council's powers in making decisions or recommendations on all major non-regulatory matters.
The role of the Select Committee is to assist in the review and development of policy, as well as scrutinise decisions of the Council.
The Audit and Governance Committee seeks to improve and maintain the corporate focus on issues arising from risk management, internal control mechanisms, internal and external audit, and financial statements.
The Licensing Committee considers all issues arising from the Licensing Act 2003 and all other licensing matters for which the Council is responsible, such as taxis.
The Licensing and Appeals Sub-Committee deals with applications and appeals relating to the Council's licensing functions, which are not delegated to officers.
The Planning Committee is responsible for making decisions on planning applications, planning enforcement and other operational planning and building control matters.
The Craven Spatial Planning Sub-Committee considers the Council's draft local development planning documents and planning policy for the Craven area.
The main purpose of the Standards Committee is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct and governance.
The main purpose of the Legacy Sub-Committee is to formally recognise organisations and individuals who have demonstrated that they have provided an exemplary service to the Craven District.
The Recruitment and Appeals Panel deals with matters relating to the recruitment and appointment of chief officers and senior management posts where the Council’s Constitution requires an Elected Member Panel to make the appointment.
Statutory and Senior Officers’ Employment Committee
The Appointment of Honorary Titles Committee makes recommendations regarding individuals and groups that it considers should be granted Honorary Freeman, Honorary Freewoman, Honorary Alderman, Honorary Alderwoman or Freedom of the Craven District.
A Planning Improvement Board has been established to consider and develop key areas in the Planning Improvement Action Plan.
