A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Skipton Town Hall

Shakespeare’s most enduringly popular comedy of love and intrigue, magic and mayhem, will be brought to life by family favourites Quantum Theatre at Skipton Town Hall this summer.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be performed at the Town Hall, on Skipton High Street, on Saturday June 23 at 7pm.

Set on that most dangerous of nights when fairies are abroad and nothing is as it seems, four young, unsuspecting lovers become entangled in their magical affray, and soon no mortals are safe in those bewitched and bewitching woods outside Athens…

Danielle Daglan, Programming & Venue Development Manager at Craven District Council, said: “This is one of Shakespeare’s most hilarious and most magical plays – it’s a great introduction to the Bard for children and the production is designed to appeal to the whole family.

“This is our fourth visit from Quantum Theatre, following on from the sold-out success of A Christmas Carol. We’re sure this will be very popular too, so make sure you get your tickets; come along and be enchanted!”

Quantum Theatre was founded over 25 years ago by Michael Whitmore and Jessica Selous to produce high quality, accessible and entertaining new work, adaptations of classic texts and Shakespeare plays for theatres and outdoor venues, and the company tours nationally across the UK.

Quantum has developed a unique style of fast paced, direct and often comic delivery to create work that breathes new life and a sprinkling of magic into old favourites for old and young alike.

Tickets for A Midsummer Night’s Dream cost £7.50 per person and are available to buy online at www.cravendc.gov.uk/skipton-town-hall or from the box office in the Tourist Information Centre at Skipton Town Hall, open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Phone orders are also welcome on 01756 792809.
