New Ad:Venture Business Adviser for Craven
A new business adviser has started work in Craven to support and provide guidance to new businesses with strong growth ambitions.
Kris Keighley is part of a team working across the Leeds City Region, within the Enterprise Growth Programme called Ad:Venture.
Working with Craven District Council’s economic development team, Kris can provide one-to-one advice and act as a personal adviser for businesses to ensure they can benefit from all the support available.
Kris said: “It can be difficult for new and growing businesses to understand the complex landscape of business support and to know where to go.
“I’m here to help people who are planning a new business, those who are just getting started, and companies in the early years of trading.
“Often it can be a challenge for new businesses to find out about the help available – our service can save them time and resources and hopefully set them on the path to success.”
Kris will talk through the different options available to businesses to match their needs, and will work with them to set a realistic action plan to overcome any challenges they have identified and to capitalise fully on the opportunities available.
He will ensure they can access other support available through the Ad:Venture programme including access to sources of finance, university-led Entrepreneur Knowledge Exchange and access to experienced business mentors.
Ad:Venture was launched in 2017 and offers a comprehensive mix of tailored business support to boost growth and develop businesses in their first three years of trading. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund to the tune of £6,161,084, the project is being match-funded by partners including Craven District Council.
Ad:Venture grants are also available, including the Start-up Grant, from £500 to £2,500, designed to cover start-up costs, such as items of equipment, broadband installation, marketing collateral, professional fees and essential insurance related costs.
Growth Grants are also on offer, with between £2,500 and £25,000 available, aimed at supporting capital investment. These are open to businesses that have been trading for 12 to 36 months and can be used for costs such as purchase of equipment, refurbishment of premises and fit-out.
