Craven Leisure prepares to reopen Revive Café and restart outdoor exercise classes
Craven Leisure is preparing to reopen Revive Café in Aireville Park, Skipton, for takeaway food and drink from March 29.
Outdoor fitness classes will also start again from March 29, and the outdoor Pitch & Foot course will reopen. Online fitness classes will continue.
The café will be open from 10am until 3pm, Monday to Sunday, serving takeaway sandwiches, cakes, ice cream and drinks. The toilets in the centre will also be open.
The Pitch & Foot course will also be open from 10am to 3pm every day.
It is hoped that Craven Leisure’s gym and swimming pools will be able to open from April 12, and swimming lessons will be able to restart, but this is dependent on Government guidance.
Indoor group exercise classes will not be able to restart until May 17 at the earliest, according to the Government’s roadmap.
Anthony Slater, Craven Leisure manager, said: “We’re working hard behind the scenes to reopen as soon as it is possible and safe for us to do so.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers back to the Revive Café from March 29 for takeaway services – we know it’s a popular destination for many families who come to enjoy Aireville Park.
“Measures have been put in place to ensure we are offering a safe environment for customers and we would urge everyone to maintain social distancing, handwashing and wear face coverings when entering the building.
“We really want to be able to open up fully as soon as we can so please, follow the rules now and there’s more chance we will be able to welcome you back to swim and use the gym very soon.”
Government advice currently is that from March 29, up to 30 people including an instructor can take part in organised group exercise outdoors.
Craven Leisure is planning to deliver a number of outdoor exercise classes in Aireville Park and the MUGA, weather dependent. These will initially be bodyweight classes, with no equipment required.
Bookings will become live three days in advance, and can be booked online at www.cravendc.gov.uk/craven-leisure/outdoor-fitness-classes/
When the gym and swimming pools reopen, all visits must be prebooked, which can be done online at www.cravendc.gov.uk/craven-leisure/book-activities-online
If all goes to plan, it will be possible to pre-book gym and swim sessions online from Sunday April 9, and sessions can be booked up to three days in advance. Memberships will be reactivated for bookings on April 9. Direct debits will be restarted from April 15 and May 1, although the first payments will be collected at 50 per cent of the normal rate.
